Education
The Guru Gobind Singh Gurdwara provides a number of activities and educational classes including a Panjabi School, Creche, classes in Sikhism along with music classes on how to play the harmonium and tabla. The Gurdwara also has a library with a range of dual language books that are suitable for both children and adults.
The Gurdwara management committee believe that providing these activities and classes is important because it ensures that Sikh children are aware of their Sikh cultural and spiritual heritage. Additionally, being able to read and write Panjabi enables a Sikh to fully participate in the worship of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji because the Guru Granth Sahib Ji is written in Gurmukhi.
